Why I Became a Prepper

Several years ago I was searching for another way to make a living. I had started Ten For God, L.L.C. as an online store where you could buy household items, gifts, and other random crap. Needless to say, it didn’t do very well. I then tried my hand at creating my own apparel line. That spawned 10-4God.com and about a one year struggle of coming up with awesome t-shirt designs and trying to sell them. Again, it didn’t go very far. However, TFG Apparel is still around. We act as a middleman to provide affordable high quality screen printing and embroidery. All outsourced, locally, of course. As I was searching the Internet for my next endeavor, I thought of emergency kits. Not sure why. But I did. That’s when I stumbled upon Guardian Survival Gear. I clicked on every link and read every page on their site to find out more about them. It didn’t take me long to decide that this would be the business for me. In fact, it also set into motion me becoming a “prepper”. Having lived most of my life in earthquake country, I had always known the benefits of keeping things like canned food, water, candles (glow sticks), etc. on hand. But like a lot of Californians, I was not very good at following the practice. Getting involved in the world of prepping meant I would have to practice what I preach. I can proudly say that I do. I became my first client. I won’t go into great detail about what my prepper closet looks like. But I can say that I am ready for most emergencies. I’m not quite on the level of the preppers they feature on TV. But I can hold my own if I need to. So now that 24x7Kits.com has grown from being a simple shopping cart site to a content driven destination for prepping knowledge, it is my goal to sell you my goods. More importantly, my hope is to be the premiere site on the web to learn how to prep and how to survive. Stay tuned for more blogs and content in the near future!
